SAN DIEGO — Due to the potential of rain in southern California Saturday afternoon, the 23rd-ranked Kentucky baseball team has had its game moved to 2 p.m. ET at Cunningham Stadium on the campus of the University of San Diego.
Kentucky (7-1) and defending Northeast Conference champion Monmouth will face off at 2 p.m. ET Saturday, in an effort to miss the rain, forecast for later in the afternoon.
UK will face San Diego Friday afternoon at Cunningham Stadium, with first-pitch slated for 5 p.m. ET. The game Friday can be heard live on the Big Blue Sports Network (radio) with Dick Gabriel calling the action. Fans in Lexington can hear the action live on WGVN 1580-AM and online at UKathletics.com.
Thursday night, UK dropped its first game of the season to San Diego State and Hall of Fame coach Tony Gwynn, 12-4, with SDSU All-American right-hander Addison Reed tossing six innings and allowing only two UK runs. UK was led offensively by sophomore rightfielder Cory Farris, who totaled the only multi-hit game for the Wildcats.
