LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team concluded day one of the UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate on Saturday with senior Brian Belden and sophomores Joseph Barr and Chase Parker in the top 35 at Forest Oaks Country Club. As at team, Kentucky is tied for 12th with a 4-over-par 580.
The Wildcats were led by Belden, Barr and Parker in day one, who each posted even-par 144s after 36 holes of golf. Belden, a native of Emmaus, Pa., shot a 3-over-par 75 in the first round and followed that with a 3-under-par 69 in the second round. The 69 was the lowest score of the day for Kentucky and one of the lowest scores in the tournament overall. Barr reached his even-par score with a 2-over-par 74 on the first 18 holes before posting a 2-under-par 70 in the second round, while Parker scored a 70 in the first round and 74 in the second round.
Sophomore Seth Blann and junior Mads Kristensen wrap up the UK rotation. Blann ended the day at6-over-par 150 and in a tie for 68th, while Kristensen sits at 7-over-par151 and in a tie for 70th.
The final round will be played Sunday, starting at 8:30 a.m. ET.
