LEXINGTON, KY – UK freshman Terrence Jones was named the SEC Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Jones, a 6-8 forward from Portland, Ore., averaged 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks in games against Tennessee and at Vanderbilt. Jones recorded his league-leading eighth double-double of the season against Tennessee. He tied his season-high with four blocks against the Vols. Jones tallied team-high 25 points at Vanderbilt and has scored in double-figures in four straight games and 16 of his last 17 games.
The awards is Jones’ fourth this season and the 10th for Kentucky.
Kentucky returns to action Tuesday night, hosting Mississippi State. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. ET tip and can be seen live on ESPN.
