LEXINGTON, Ky. – UK men’s basketball senior Darius Miller has been invited to attend the 2011 USA Basketball Men’s World University Games Team training camp.

The training camp, which will be held July 29-Aug. 7 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (USOTC) in Colorado Springs, Colo., will be used to select the 12-member team that will represent the USA at the 2011 World University Games men’s basketball competition Aug. 13-23 in Shenzhen, China.

“It’s an honor to be invited to the tryouts, where the ultimate goal is a chance to represent our country. I’m just as excited for the opportunity to play against some of the best basketball talent in the nation,” Miller said.

Finalists for the 2011 USA World University Games Team will be announced on July 31. Training camp will continue July 31-Aug. 7 at the USOTC, with the official roster being announced prior to the teams’ departure for China on Aug. 8.

Miller has previous experience with USA Basketball as a member of the USA U19 team that won a gold medal, going 9-0 at the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship in New Zealand.

Last season, the Maysville, Ky. native was named the 2011 SEC Tournament MVP averaging 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He averaged 10.9 ppg and 4.6 rpg on the season, helping lead the Wildcats to the 2011 Final Four.
