What’s your hometown?
West Carrollton, Ohio. -
Why Kentucky?
I knew the coaches, I knew a few of the girls and I thought it would be the best move for me and that I would be a lot more comfortable being in the program. -
What does being a Kentucky Wildcat mean to you?
It means a lot. Obviously it’s a good basketball program and I feel like it’s an honor to be a part of this family. -
What has most impressed you most about the coaching staff?
I like how open they are. They have an open door policy where we can go in there whenever we want to. They’re not just about basketball and they make us feel comfortable around them. -
What is the one thing about being at Kentucky that has surprised you the most?
Just how nice everybody is, even in Lexington, period. Everybody speaks to you and is polite, something I’m not used to from being up North. -
When you decided to transfer, did you immediately have Kentucky on your radar?
That was the first school that came to mind, honestly. I had been in touch with Amber (Smith) ever since my freshman year in high school and her freshman year in college. It was definitely the first school that I thought about transferring to. -
What do you like the most about Lexington?
I like how clean it is. It’s just so eco-friendly and it’s a nice city to live in. Everybody is nice and friendly and there are a lot of good restaurants, too. -
Did you come from a sporting family and did that influence you to get involved with sports?
My father played basketball in college and my mom was a cheerleader. My cousin and uncle also played basketball and football, and growing up playing against them, that influenced me a lot. I grew up watching my dad play and he got me started. -
Despite it being the summer still, how have the coaches helped you in getting better?
They were away a lot this summer with recruiting but they’ve kept in touch with us making sure we’re working hard. It was sort of an accountability thing making sure we were being accountable with what we were doing while they were away. -
What’s your major?
I’m majoring in fashion merchandising and possibly minoring in business marketing. -
What is your dream job?
I want to be a fashion designer and a stylist. -
What are you most looking forward to this season?
Playing again because it’s been awhile. -
Coming from a strong women’s basketball program like UConn, how do you think that will help you at Kentucky?
I learned a lot while I was there and I think I can bring some of that to this program. I think my work ethic will help me here because Coach Mitchell likes players who work hard. -
How do you see yourself fitting into Coach Mitchell’s system and style of play?
I’m very athletic and he likes to run and play defense. I can get up and down the floor so I think I fit in very well. -
How do you think you’re going to feel the first time you step out on the floor in Memorial Coliseum?
I’m going to be nervous obviously because it will be my first time, but at the same time I’m going to feel like I’m at home. It will be the first game where it just felt like the right place for me. -
Has there been any one player who has taken you under their wing to help the transition to this school?
Bernisha Pinkett. I don’t think she even realizes it but she definitely took me under her wing when I first got here. -
Is there a motto you live by each day?
Dream the unthinkable. Nothing is impossible. I can do whatever I want to do. -
How have the pickup games been this summer?
They’ve been really intense. They’ve been good this summer. -
What are your thoughts about playing in the SEC?
I’m excited. The SEC is definitely one of the best conferences out there. I’m just really excited to start playing. -
What impresses you most about Coach Mitchell?
I like how open he is. He’s open as a father to you. He looks at you as his kids, not his players. -
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I love to read.
