LEXINGTON, Ky. – It seems no one can stop Jessica Stiles and Khristina Blajkevitch of the University of Kentucky’s women’s tennis team. The two have paired up for doubles play at the USTA/ITA Women’s Tennis Ohio Valley Regional’s and have yet to lose a match. Their impressive play has earned them a spot in the semi-finals for doubles play.

Stiles and Blajkevitch put on quite the performance in today’s quarterfinals match. They took on Jenna Nurick and Kaylene Chadwell from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and dominated the match to win 8-3.

Stiles has also found success in singles play. After defeating Riekie Honiball of Miami University yesterday, she moved on to play Rebecca Shine from the University of Louisville today. The two battled into a third set, but Stiles ultimately came out on top with the final score being 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. She will move on to play in main singles draw quarterfinals tomorrow.

The three other wildcats participating in the tournament also brought home wins in singles play. All three fell to their opponents in the first round of singles play yesterday, but came back to win their games today. Blajkevitch took on Courtney Wild of Ball State and defeated her, 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Edmée Morin-Kougoucheff played a closer match against Sarah Miller of U of L, but brought home the 7-5, 6-2, win. The other freshman participating in the tournament, Stephanie Fox, breezed through her match, dominating Katherine Castro of Miami OH, 6-0, 6-1.

All four players will move on to play in doubles and singles matches tomorrow as the tournament progresses.
