LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off a strong final round in the Mercedes-Benz Southeastern Conference/Pac-12 Challenge one week ago, the University of Kentucky women’s golf team will begin play in the Alamo Invitational on Sunday in San Antonio. The par 72, 6,272 yard invitational will be played at Briggs Ranch Golf Club from Oct.30-Nov. 1.
The University of Texas at San Antonio will play host to Baylor, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri State, Nebraska, New Mexico, New Mexico State, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech and UCF.
Kentucky will tee off from the first hole Sunday at 12:20 p.m. in eight-minute intervals. Sophomore Liz Breed will be the first to tee off followed by senior Ashlee Rose, and juniors Heather Lott, Betsie Johnson and Ashleigh Albrecht at 12:52 p.m. As an individual, junior Megan Moir will tee off at 12:12 p.m. from the 10th tee. All times are Central.
The Cats enter the Alamo Invitational with two top-10 finishes including a No. 1 overall finish at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational. Albrecht begins her fourth tournament of the season with three top-10 finishes including a No. 1 overall individual finish at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational. Albrecht’s 73.89 fall scoring average leads Kentucky. With season-low rounds at the SEC/Pac-12 Challenge, Johnson and Lott hope to continue their good play at the Alamo Invitational.
