LEXINGTON, Ky. – After two rounds at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, the University of Kentucky women’s golf team sits in sixth place with a total score of nine-over par (585). The Cats finished the second round at seven-over par (295).

Junior Heather Lott finished her second round with an even-par 72. Lott’s four birdies in the second round leave her tied for 13th overall at 1-over par. Sophomore Liz Breed continued her consistent play with a 1-over par 73. Breed finished her second round with three birdies, and is also tied for 13th at 1-over par.

Through two rounds, Kentucky sits 11 strokes off the lead in sixth place. Nebraska has taken over the top spot after a course-record 8-under par 280 in the second round. Rounding out the top five are Texas-San Antonio, Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech.

“We got off to a tougher start today and they could have given in, but they dug deep to finish strong,” said UK head coach Golda Johansson Borst. “We will keep fighting tomorrow and end the (fall) season on a good note.”

Junior Ashleigh Albrecht finished her second round at 3-over par. Albrecht’s second round leaves her tied for 21st at 2-over par overall. Senior Ashlee Rose improved from her first round, shooting a 3-over par 75. Rose sunk two birdies on the day and is now tied for 44th at 7-over par. Junior Betsie Johnson shot an 11-over par 83 in the second round. As an individual, Megan Moir improved by eight strokes in the second round, shooting a 4-over par 76 on Monday.

Kentucky will begin the final round of the Alamo Invitational on Tuesday. The shotgun start will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET. Lott and Breed will tee off from the fifth tee box, followed by Albrecht on the sixth and Rose and Johnson on the seventh. Moir will tee off from the 18th.
