LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky volleyball team is set to add Kelsey Wolf to the 2012 class it was announced by UK coach Craig Skinner on Monday. Wolf is a defensive specialist from Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

“Kelsey is an elite competitor and a proven winner and she will be a great addition to our back court defense,” Skinner said. “Her team-first attitude will mesh well with the current culture of the program.”

Wolf is a 2011 Under Armour All-America Honorable Mention selection. PrepVolleyball named her as one of its Defensive Dandies and as a member of its top-150 Senior Aces.

The Mount Notre Dame squad captured the 2011 State High School Championship with Wolf earning first-team All-State honors. As a junior, she was a third-team All-State selection and the team’s most valuable player.

Wolf’s club squad captured the Club Power League Championship in each of the last two seasons, and finished among the top-10 in the nation at the AAU National Tournament.

Also, a tremendous student, Wolf is an honor roll student and a member of the All-GGCL Academic Team.

Wolf joins setter Morgan Bergren (Muncie, Ind.), middle blocker Sara Schwarzwalder (North Royalton, Ohio) and right side hitter Shelby Workman (Overland Park, Kan.) to the 2012 freshman class.
