LEXINGTON, Ky. — After suffering its first loss of the year at No. 1 TCU on Saturday, the Kentucky rifle team will look to rebound, traveling to Murray, Ky., to compete in the Withrow Invitational, hosted by Murray State on Friday.
Kentucky (8-1, 4-0 Great American Rifle Conference) continues its road swing with its seventh consecutive match away from Lexington. After the Withrow Invitational, UK will return home on Sunday to face off with Morehead State.
Both the match at the Withrow Invitational and Morehead State will present an opportunity for some of the younger talents on the UK roster a chance to compete on the first team. UK traveled six of its team-leading student-athletes to matches at TCU and those six are staying in Lexington and will likely not compete at Murray State or against Morehead State as UK head coach Harry Mullins provides experience for his younger members of the roster.
UK competitors traveling to Murray include Elijah Ellis, James Jasis, Ed Ryznar, Cody Manning, Ethan Marne and Jonathan Pinkel.
