LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky swimming and diving teams have made the trip south to Knoxville, Tenn., for the final time of the 2012 season as the Wildcats will conclude the month of February by competing in the Southeastern Conference Championships at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

ESPN, as part of its television contract with the SEC is proud to present the SEC swimming and diving championships on a tape-delay basis on ESPNU in two parts. The first part will air Monday, Feb. 27 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The conclusion of the event will also be shown on ESPNU beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

SEC Community Service Team’s Announced:

The Southeastern Conference office announced that UK swimmers Anna Mattox and Maclin Simpson were named to the 2012 Community Service Team on Monday morning.

Mattox, a senior, is a member of the UK College of Health and Science. Mattox participated in the YMCA Healthy Kids’s day and Down Syndrome Buddy Walk. She also is an excellent student, excelling as a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Delta Epsilon academic groups.

Simpson, a senior is a volunteer at the St. Joseph’s Children Home as well as a volunteer at the Kentucky Special Olympics swim meets. He volunteers often for God’s Pantry backpacking and collecting money. An avid member of UK Fusion, Simpson also a volunteer member for the Bluegrass Miracle League helping to clean their fields. Simpson also has taught character lessons at Russell Cave Elementary.
