LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s and women’s track and field teams had a busy day Friday in the opening of the 68th annual Pepsi Florida Relays at the Percy Beard Track at James G. The Florida Relays first began 73 years ago in 1939. Today, the meet is one of the nation’s premier track and field competitions. On Saturday, Kentucky will compete in five running events on the women’s side and two running events on the men’s side. The Wildcats will also compete in one field event on the women’s side and two field events on the men’s side.

Kentucky will open the day at 11 a.m. ET with sophomore Andrew Evans competing in the men’s discus. Also competing in field events Saturday are freshman Bradley Szypka (men’s shot put) and senior Jennifer Svoboda (women’s shot put). The men’s and women’s shot put are each scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

UK will be competing in a slew of relays Saturday, beginning at noon with the women’s 1,600m sprint medley. The Wildcat women will race in the 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay and 4,000m distance medley. The UK men will race in the 4x800m relay and 4,000m distance medley.
