LEXINGTON, Ky. – With the Notre Dame-Kentucky men’s basketball matchup already selected as a part of the SEC/Big East Challenge, ESPN officially announced the tip for 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 29. The game will air live on ESPN2 on the campus of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.

The SEC/Big East Challenge will feature 12 schools in the SEC competing against 12 schools from the Big East over a three-day period beginning Nov. 29.

The Wildcats lead the all-time series against the Irish, 42-18; however Notre Dame holds an 8-6 advantage over Kentucky in South Bend. UK defeated the Irish in the most recent meeting, 72-58 in Louisville during the 2010-11 season. The last time the two teams met in South Bend, the Irish bested the Cats, 77-67, in the 2009 NIT, ending UK’s season.

UK opens the 2012-13 season on Nov. 9 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Blue and White will take on Maryland to begin the year.
