San Antonio, Texas – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team prepares for their final tournament of the fall season this weekend as they head south for the Alamo Invitational, Oct. 28-30 at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course. The tournament will be a 54-hole stroke-play event, with a round of 18 being played on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The invitational is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
“We are really looking forward to playing at UTSA this weekend, head coach Golda Johansson Borst said. Briggs Ranch is a great golf course and it’s a course that our team is comfortable with. We have had two good weeks of preparation and I am confident that my team is ready to compete this week.”
The Wildcats will present a lineup featuring junior Liz Breed, freshmen Cylia Damerau and Sarah Harris, along with seniors Ashleigh Albrecht and Heather Lott.
The field is loaded with 15 schools, including Baylor, Colorado, East Carolina, LSU, Louisville, Nebraska, North Texas, Oklahoma, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State, Tulane and UTSA.
The second round is scheduled to begin on Monday at 9:30 a.m. ET, while the final round will be played on Tuesday, with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET.
The invitational will be played at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course and is a par-72, 6,428 yard layout.
This fall, the Wildcats have competed in three events, including a team victory in the opening tournament at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational. UK placed eighth and tied for 12th in the Mason Rudolph and Tar Heel Invitationals.
