2002: Outdoor – Competed in five outdoor meets, enjoying her best finish at the EKU Classic with a second-place jump of 5-01.00…Finished fourth at the Cardinal Open with a leap of 5-03.00. Indoor – Had her best jump of the year at the SEC East meet, finishing sixth with a 5-05.00 leap.
High School: Was the Kentucky High Jump state champion in 1999 and 2001… Also qualified for the state championships in the pole vault, triple jump, long jump and 100-meter hurdles… Holds school records in all of those events except the long jump… Also ran cross country for Ryle High School.
Personal: Born Nov. 23, 1982… Parents are Ingrid and Wolfgang Funken… Majoring in computer science.
