1998-99 – UK’s top returning sprint freestyler… Became the first UK swimmer to go under 20.0 in the 50 freestyle last year when he broke the UK school record… Met the NCAA “B” cut in the 50 and 100 freestyle… Member of three school record-breaking relays… Placed ninth in the 50 freestyle, 12th in the 100 freestyle, and 21st in the 100 butterfly at the SEC Championships… At the Nike Cup, finished third in the 100 butterfly, fourth in the 50 freestyle, and ninth in the 100 freestyle… Won the 50 freestyle in dual meets against South Carolina and LSU… Captured the 50 and 100 freestyle against Alabama.

1997-98 – Set new personal bests in 50 and 100 free and 100 fly… Swam UK’s fastest 50 and 100 free times of the season… Jumped into all-time top 5 in 50 and 100 freestyles and 100 fly… At SEC Championships, finished 15th in 50 free, 25th in 100 fly and 36th in 100 free… Came in 19th in 100 free and 13th in 50 free at Nike Cup.

Pre-College – Two-year captain at Lincoln Park Academy, swimming for Coach Linda Boltersdorf… Won both the conference and district championships while at Lincoln Park… Finished fifth at the state meet in the 200 freestyle… Swam the 50 free at the Florida Swimming All-Stars meet… Was a finalist in the 50 free at the 1997 Junior Nationals, finishing eighth… Also swam the 100 free and 100 butterfly at nationals, finishing ninth and 10th, respectively… Swam for the St. Lucie YMCA under Coach Scott Kimmelman.

Best Times – 50 freestyle – 19.97; 100 freestyle – 44.67; 200 freestyle – 1:43.13; 100 butterfly – 49.78.
