Junior (2009): Served mainly as a pinch runner for UK and began developing into an outfielder … Tossed one inning of work in UK’s upset victory over LSU … Came in as a pinch runner in a win over Kent State … Scored her first career run as a pinch runner in the win over Western Kentucky … Took the mound for an inning against Tennessee … Scored twice in the NCAA Tournament as a pinch runner, once against Ohio State and the other in the win over Canisius.

Sophomore (2008): Made 22 appearances and 17 starts in the circle in her second season … Set a career high with 128.0 innings pitched and 35 strikeouts tossed … Earned her first start and win of the season, leading UK to a 4-1 win over UCF in the third place game of the Paradise Classic … Picked up her second win of the year going six innings, giving up one run and tossing out two over Eastern Illinois … Set a career high with five strikeouts in a win over Morehead State … Notched a career high with eight innings pitched in a loss to Indiana … Had an impressive outing against Mississippi State, throwing six innings, fanning three batters and allowing just one run … Tossed six innings, striking out four in a loss to Ole Miss.

Freshman (2007): Paced the team in earned run average (3.97), opposing batting average (.311), wins (7), saves (2), appearances (28) and games in relief (28) … Was second on the team with 95.1 innings pitched … Struck out 28 batters, including 12 batters looking … Threw four complete games … Struck out three in games against Butler and IUPUI … Gave up just one run in a win over Sacramento State … Earned saves against Marshall and Ole Miss.

High School: Played at North Hardin High School … Ace of the North Hardin pitching staff with a 28-6 record as a senior … Had a team-best 0.49 ERA … Struck out 355 batters in 226 innings of work … Gave up just 16 earned runs as a senior … Batted .372 with 13 RBI, 12 doubles and two home runs … Received All-State honors and was named the News Enterprise Player of the Year … Named to the 17th district and 5th Regional All-Tournament teams … In the 20-team Ballard tournament, Young compiled a 5-0 record as she blanked then top-ranked Greenwood and no-hit Grayson County … In that five-game stretch, Young surrendered just two runs and threw four shutouts … In that same 34 innings of work, she allowed 12 hits and struck out 62 batters … Has been named to the 17th District All-Tournament team three times … Is a two-time member of the All-Fifth Region All-Tournament Team … Member of honor roll, National Honors Society, Who’s Who Among High School Students.
