Kentucky Softball head coach Rachel Lawson announced the incoming transfer of graduate student Jaden Vickers, who will spend her final season of eligibility with the Wildcats after four successful seasons at Rutgers University.

Vickers is a left-handed pitcher with one season of eligibility remaining who hails from Crystal Rivers, Florida. She went 11-8 overall in 2023 with the Scarlet Knights, with a 3.23 ERA and 93 strikeouts. Her biggest wins in the circle this season were against Northwestern, Iowa and Texas Tech while also  tallying a save against Ohio State in Big Ten play.

“I chose Kentucky because I could see how strong the culture was among the coaching staff and the team.” Vickers said. “The team was not satisfied with last season, and I could see how determined they were to change the outcome for the upcoming season – and I would love to attribute to that success. It means a lot to wear that Kentucky Blue. I can’t wait!”

The incoming Wildcat led all pitchers on RU’s staff with 93 strikeouts, throwing 108.1 innings of work, five complete games and a pair of saves.

For her career, Vickers has earned 27 wins in the circle in her 107 appearances with 58 games started, 19 complete games, four complete-game shutouts and over 375 innings thrown. She has struck out more batters than she’s walked in all four seasons of her career, with double-digit wins each of the last two seasons in the circle.
