Outdoor – Improved his personal best javelin throw he came into the NCAA Championships with with by 12-feet, four inches on his second attempt, and then blew that mark out of the water on the third try to eventually place sixth … His third attempt of 232’3″/70.81m got him to the NCAA final out of the first of two flights. Perhaps owing to having to wait another hour before the final three rounds started, he didn’t improve after that … His second-attempt mark of 227’4″/69.30m was a 5’5″ PB at the time, only to be improved another 4’9″ one round later…. Became UK’s first NCAA javelin scorer since Raymond Dykstra last did so in 2015 … Qualified for NCAAs with a seventh-place throw at NCAA East Prelims with a mark of 209’11″/63.99m … Ninth at SECs … Third at National Relays with a then season best 221’9″/67.60m … Placed fifth at Tennessee Relays and Florida Relays … Opened season at UCF Black and old Challenge

Outdoor – Ended up taking a medical hardship after he competed at the Baldy Castilo Invitational and Florida Relays … Season best mark was 218’7″/66.63m
2016 (Sophomore)
Outdoor – Placed seventh, scoring two points, at the SEC Championships in the javelin with a season-best mark 211’7″/64.49m … NCAA East Prelims qualifier in the javelin
Prior to UK
A transfer from the Siskiyous, Marta was the 2015 California State Champion in the javelin with a mark of 214’5”/65.36m … Won the Golden Valley Conference Javelin Title in 2015 … During his senior year of high school Elijah placed 1st in discus (153’6”/46.79m) and shot put (45’9’/13.94m) at the SCCAL Finals. In 2014, he placed third in javelin at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships with a distance of 210’3”/64.08m.
