2017 (Senior)
Preseason All Conference USA / First Team Conference USA / SEC Academic Honor Roll … Starting in defense for the third season in a row … Started in all 16 games this season … Assisted the game-winning goal in the season opener vs. Marquette. 

2016 (junior)
Scored his first career goal in the season opener v Marquette … Has played the full time in all eight matches so far – 757 minutes … Part of a UK defense that has allowed just four goals this season – none from the run of play … Started in all 19 matches … Scored his first career goal in the season opener v Marquette … Played 1812 minutes …

2015 (sophomore)
An athletic starting center back in all seven of UK’s C-USA shutouts … transitioned the heart of UK’s defense at the start of league play, making his first start at center back in a 1-0 win at Marshall … after the move to center back, UK conceded one goal in league matches and three overall …  Started 13 games at center back, with UK conceding just six goals during that stretch … Started 15 of the 17 matches he played in … Played 1477 minutes, a career high by three minutes.

Sat out the season with a knee injury.

2013 (freshman)
Started all 18 games he played in as a true freshman on the back line … Logged 1474 minutes … Played the full time in 10 of the 18 games he played … Fired 13 shots during the season with four of them on goal … Helped lead the team in posting five of the six shutouts for the season … Played a majority of the season at outside back, while also making a couple starts at midfield.

Played for Terry Smith at Hilliard Davidson High School in Ohio, earning three varsity letters … During the club season, Bumpus was under the guidance of Billy Thompson as a member of the Columbus Crew Soccer Academy … During his freshman season at Hilliard, Bumpus helped to lead the Wildcats to a 2009 District title while on the way to be naming team “Rookie of the Year” as well as Ohio Capital Conference Special Mention … During the 2009 club season, Bumpus helped win the Ohio state Club title and a berth in the Regional Final for the Crew … At the conclusion of Bumpus’ sophomore season, one in which he was named team captain by coaches and fellow teammates, Bumpus was named Top Midfielder by the team and his second consecutive OCC Special Mention … The club campaign brought another Ohio state title, Midwest Regional League Championship and a finalist at the Disney College Showcase … The 2011 junior season saw Bumpus named Hilliard MVP and first-team all-OCC, first-team all-district and second-team all-state.

Born Alex Grant Bumpus to Haidee Bumpus in Columbus, Ohio … Has a brother, Spencer … Active in the community by volunteering as a youth soccer coach, as well as helping to run local soccer tournaments and camps … A three-time scholar-athlete.
