Had an all-conference season as UK’s primary goalkeeper … Battled with talented freshman Callum Irving in the preseason for the starting job, with Irving getting the nod in the season opener at Dayton … Started both of UK’s games in the Gamecock Classic, allowing two goals in each game … Irving started the next two games, with Van Arsdale coming off the bench to work a shutout second half vs. No. 4 Charlotte in a 1-0 loss … Earned the starting job in goal for the remainder of the season with a heroic shutout performance at No. 18 Louisville … Saved six shots in a 1-0 win at Louisville, with UK getting an early goal to hold up the win … Started the final 15 games of the year in goal … Saved six shots vs. Memphis, at Louisville and vs. Northwestern … Earned conference and national weekly accolades after helping UK to the blanking at Louisville.

2011
Earned the back-up keeper position in the preseason, making three starts in place of an injured Tyler Beadle … Started consecutive games vs. IUPUI and IPFW and the season finale at No. 25 South Carolina … vs. IUPUI, totaled on save and allowed two goals in a 2-2 weather-shortened draw and vs. IPFW totaled two saves in a 4-2 win, facing 10 shots … With Beadle out at South Carolina, Van Arsdale was the lone keeper to travel and he turned in his best outing of the year, saving three shots in 17 shots faced, including helping UK manage to battle through a 19-0 advantage in corner kicks, with UK playing with 10 men the majority of the contest … Made the biggest save of the year on a penalty kick late in the game vs. South Carolina, allowing UK a chance to finish the game in a draw … Totaled a 1.86 goals-against average in his three games, saving six shots and posting a 1-0-2 record.

Pre-UK (Virginia Commonwealth)
Played two years at Virginia Commonwealth for coach Dave Giffard … As a freshman, played in five games and four starts … Totaled 18 saves and a .692 save percentage … In his second career game in 2009, totaled 10 saves against high-powered North Carolina … Did not see game action as a sophomore.

Earned three letters for Herb Modrac at Mills E. Godwin … As a senior, earned first-team All-Colonial District, a second-team All-Central Region, second team All-Metro Richmond, first-team All-DigitalSports and team MVP and captain honors … As a senior totaled 15 shutouts in 22 games, good for a 0.49 goals-against average and a 18-2-1 record … Led team to the Colonial District regular-season and tournament championship as a senior … Played for club tem Richmond Strikers and coach Erwan LeCrom from 1996-2009 … Also played basketball for three years … Had a staggering 4.2 GPA in high school.
