Tom Kalinowski, better known as “T.K.,” enters his 49th season as the equipment manager for the Kentucky football program in 2026, continuing a remarkable career that spans more than five decades with the Wildcats. A pillar of consistency and dedication, Kalinowski has been instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the program while maintaining the highest standards in equipment management.
A picture of longevity, Kalinowski’s service to Kentucky football actually dates back to 1974 when he began as a student manager, a role he held through 1977. With that start, he has surpassed 50 years working with the program, marking his 54th overall season in 2026.
Over the course of his career, Kalinowski has worked more than 500 consecutive games, a testament to his commitment and reliability. In recognition of his milestone 50th season in 2023, he was named an honorary captain for Kentucky’s home finale against Alabama.
A University of Kentucky graduate, Kalinowski earned his undergraduate degree in 1978, the same year he was named head football equipment manager.
He is a Certified Equipment Manager, as designated by the American Equipment Managers Association, and has shared his expertise by serving on advisory boards for equipment manufacturers Shutt and Bike.
Originally from Middletown, Connecticut, Kalinowski graduated from Xavier High School in 1974, where he was a student manager for the football, baseball and basketball programs.
Kalinowski and his wife, Vicki, have two sons, Ian and Cody.
