BIO

Mark Perry serves as an offensive assistant, NFL liaison, and director of high school relations for Kentucky football, where he plays a key role in offensive development, recruiting strategy, and professional player advancement. A veteran coach with more than two decades of experience across high school and collegiate football, Perry is widely respected for his expertise in spread offenses, quarterback development, and program operations.

During his tenure at Kentucky (2019–present), Perry has worked closely with quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs while building strong relationships throughout the SEC and with NFL personnel. He has helped coach and develop several well-known SEC standouts, including Will Levis, Devin Leary, Chris Rodriguez Jr., Ray Davis, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Josh Ali, guiding players who have gone on to professional careers and national recognition. His experience coordinating high-level offensive systems has made him a trusted voice in game planning and player development within the program.

Perry’s offensive background is rooted in up-tempo spread systems. A former quarterback at Kentucky (1997–2001), he played in Hal Mumme and Mike Leach’s Air Raid system before embarking on a coaching career that has included collaboration with prominent NFL and collegiate offensive minds such as Liam Coen and Rich Scangarello. His exposure to pro-style and Shanahan-based offensive concepts through those relationships has strengthened his ability to adapt and evolve modern spread principles at the collegiate level.

Prior to returning to Kentucky, Perry served as chief of staff at West Virginia and director of football operations at Troy, where he oversaw program operations and a $25 million facility renovation project. He also spent 14 years as a highly successful high school head coach in Kentucky, earning a reputation as a strong leader, proven recruiter, and program builder.

Perry, native of Columbus, Ohio, holds a master’s degree in instructional leadership and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health education from Kentucky. His career reflects a rare combination of offensive innovation, operational leadership, and deep recruiting ties—positioning him as a respected figure in both SEC football and the broader coaching community.

Perry and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children: Beau, Mary-Claire, and Brooks.
