Skyler Gress - Football - University of Kentucky Athletics


  • Skyler (Cottrell) Gress enters her first season as the senior athletic trainer for Kentucky football after being promoted in the summer of 2023.
  • Prior to her current position, served as the assistant athletic trainer for the Wildcats’ football team for two years (2021-23).
  • Began her athletic training career as a summer athletic training intern for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons in 2017 before working two years (2017-2019) as the athletic trainer for Our Lady of the Scared Heart High School in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
  • In the summer of 2018, worked as the summer athletic training intern for the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
  • Spent January-May of 2019 as the athletic training clinical intern for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers before moving up to an intern assistant athletic trainer from 2019-21.
  • Attended and worked as a student athletic trainer at Emporia State in Emporia, Kansas from 2012-14 before transferring to Colorado State University-Pueblo.
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in May of 2017 from Colorado State University-Pueblo in athletic training.
  • Attended graduate school at Pittsburgh and earned a master’s degree in sports medicine in 2019.
  • Native of Douglass, Kansas.
