Matthew French was hired in the fall of 2024 as the assistant director of scouting with the Kentucky Football program … Helps identify and evaluate high school and transfer prospects, maintains virtual recruiting boards and player bios, and assists with coordinating travel plans for in-person prospect meetings.
Prior to UK, he spent one season as the director of football equipment at Lindenwood University while also assisting the coaching staff with scouting players.
French gained valuable recruiting experience as a personnel assistant in the South Carolina football recruiting office from 2018-21 where he assessed high school players’ film and provided campus tours of facilities to high school players and their families … Also assisted the director of football operations and helped strategize recruiting efforts for the wide receivers coach, among other duties.
Volunteered as a media intern at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in January of 2020, assisting the director of marketing and recording line statistics for the Senior Bowl game.
The Catonsville, Maryland native served as a student manager for two seasons (2017-18) with the Gamecocks’ football team while a student at South Carolina.
Graduated from USC in August of 2018 with a degree in retail and sport management.
