Evan Griskowitz (pronounced GRIS-co-witz) was promoted to director of sports medicine/head football athletic trainer for Kentucky Football in the summer of 2023, overseeing the health, safety and performance care of the Wildcats.
Griskowitz originally joined Kentucky in 2017 as a graduate assistant, working with the football and rifle teams. After earning his master’s degree in health science/athletic training from UK in 2019, he began his full-time career as the assistant director of sports medicine for football and men’s golf at Eastern Kentucky.
He returned to Kentucky in May of 2020 as an assistant athletic trainer for football and was promoted to senior athletic trainer in March of 2021. In that role, he not only handled day-to-day responsibilities with the football program, but also supervised assistant athletic trainers for both football and baseball.
Prior to his time at Kentucky, Griskowitz spent two seasons (2015–16) as a seasonal intern with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, where he developed proficiency in advanced treatment techniques including Graston, Positional Release Therapy, Blood Flow Restriction and cupping.
He has also gained a wide range of experience working with various teams and events, including the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships (2021), Wesley Woodyard Football Camp (2019), Kentucky men’s basketball camps and events (2018–19), the Kentucky Blue Grass State Soccer Games (2017–18), West Ham United F.C. during its visit to the Seahawks’ facility (2016), and the Delaware 87ers of the NBA D-League (2014).
A native of Newark, Delaware, Griskowitz served as a student athletic trainer at the University of Delaware, earning his bachelor’s degree in athletic training in 2015.
He is married to the former Jenna of Wilmington, Delaware, and the couple has two daughters, Lola and Gia.
