Kyle Smoot grew up in Carlisle, Kentucky and received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. He completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Kentucky. After completing his training, Dr. Smoot spent six years at The University of Iowa where he family medicine and sports medicine as faculty in the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. While at Iowa he started the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Sports Medicine Fellowship and served as team physician to the Iowa Hawkeyes including team physician and travel responsibilities with Iowa Football. Dr. Smoot and his family returned to the Bluegrass and UK in 2015 where he practices sports medicine at the UK HealthCare Sports Medicine Clinic @ Turfland and also serves as Associate Head Team Physician to UK Athletics.
