Kentucky Softball Announces Signing of Addyson Frye

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team announced Wednesday that two-way player Addyson Frye has signed an athletics aid agreement with UK where she will join the Wildcats with one year of eligibility used up after spending 2026 with Providence.

“Addyson is an incredibly strong two-way player that we are looking forward to having as a Wildcat,” UK head coach Rachel Lawson said. “She will add more power to the lineup and quality depth to the pitching rotation. Having played for elite coaches both in high school and the travel ball circuit, Addyson’s mind for the game is also top-shelf.”

Frye appeared in 29 games for the Friars in 2026, starting in 13 of them with six wins in the circle. Frye struck out 59 batters on the season for Providence in her freshman season and did not commit an error.

Prior to her time at Providence, she was a standout player in the Pennsylvania high school ranks for Neshannock High School where she had 765 career strikeouts and was a two-time (2024 and 2025) Max Prep Pennsylvania Player of the Year. In her senior season of high school softball, she was a First Team All-American and the 2A All-State Pitcher of the Year.

Frye will join Kentucky this fall.
