Standout Hannah Christian Signs With Kentucky Softball

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team announced that it has signed outfielder Hannah Christian to an athletics aid agreement, where she will join Kentucky after recently completing her sophomore year. She comes to Kentucky after spending her first two seasons with Southern Mississippi.

“A dynamic athlete and instinctual leader, Hannah adds speed and power to the lineup,” UK head coach Rachel Lawson said. “Hannah’s energy and team-first mentality was immediately apparent on her visit to Lexington. We can’t wait to have her on campus in the fall.”

Christian is a .357 career hitter with the Golden Eagles where she started in 47 games for Southern Miss her freshman season and all 57 in her sophomore season that ended last month. She has 119 career hits in two years with 46 coming in 2025 and increasing that to 73 in her sophomore campaign last year to become one of the most feared hitters in the Sun Belt Conference. Last year alone with a .383 batting average, she added in 38 runs, 11 doubles, five home runs, 43 RBI and 22 walks.

Christian hails from Hoover, Alabama and attended Hoover High School where she was named three times to the All-South Metro Team and the Over the Mountain Team, and was also named twice to the Alabama 7A All-State Team and AL.com Terrific 20 list while at Hoover. Her .503 batting average broke a single-season school record and her standout performance earned a ranking of No. 38 on Extra Inning Elite’s overall player ranking.
