Kentucky Softball Announces Signing of Julia Bacoulis

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Softball team announced Tuesday that Julia Bacoulis has transferred to UK and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Bacoulis comes to Kentucky after spending her freshman season with Florida Gulf Coast University in Naples.

“Julia brings a winning mindset to our team and is an experienced pitcher who always wants the ball in the circle,” Rachel Lawson said about Bacoulis joining the Wildcats. “She has a great depth of pitches in her arsenal with elite movement and when combined with her blue-collar mentality, will become an extremely valuable arm for our bullpen.”

A native of Monroe, Connecticut, Bacoulis was the 2024 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year and the 2024 and 2025 CHSCA Player of the Year.

Last season at Florida Gulf Coast University, she picked up eight wins in the circle in 39 appearances with four complete games and one complete-game shutout. Bacoulis threw 122.2 innings for the Eagles and struck out 93 batters with opposing teams hitting just .265 off of her. Offensively, she collected 40 at bats with seven hits, scoring four runs and six RBI.
