Gunnell, Beasley Combine for Five Personal Bests at Texas Relays
AUSTIN, Texas – The Kentucky Wildcats completed the opening day of the Texas Relays today in Austin, Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Today’s events consisted only of the first four events of the women’s heptathlon, including the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m. Junior Julia Gunnell and sophomore Dahlia Beasley combined for five personal best marks on the day, as well as the first win of the week for the Wildcats, placing atop the leaderboard in the 200m to close out day one in Austin.
Tomorrow, Gunnell and Beasley will complete the remaining three events for the heptathlon, featuring the long jump, javelin and 800m events.
Day two of the Texas Relays will begin tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET.
