LEXINGTON, Ky. – Teonni Key of Kentucky women’s basketball has been named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree, it was announced this week.

Key, a senior forward from Cary, North Carolina, is currently working toward a degree in Sports Leadership.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution’s games or started in at least 66 percent.

On the court, Key is a critical member of Kentucky’s success in 2025-26.

Helping lead her team to a 25-10 overall record and reach the second weekend of the NCAA Championship, she is averaging 11.4 points per game on 52.1% from the field, 7.4 rebounds per game (11th in the Southeastern Conference) and 1.22 blocks per game (also 11th in the SEC).

She is coming off a team-lead 19 points in the win over No. 11/13 West Virginia in the NCAA Championship Second Round on Monday. She added 10 rebounds and two assists.

It marked her seventh double-double this season.

Key also is a leader in the community.

She interned two semesters with the UK Athletics Student-Athlete Experience department this season, while she also served as a leader for My New Kentucky Home.

The Wildcat also volunteered with Millions Meal Tour, assisted with a Big Brothers Big Sisters field day and bracelet making events, read books to students at a local elementary school, volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and more this season.
