Sharon Lee Named to SEC Community Service Team

TULSA, Okla.– Kentucky junior Sharon Lee has been named the Wildcats’ representative to the 2026 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team for Gymnastics. The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 22 league-sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Lee has amassed over 150 hours of community service during her time in Lexington. Serving across a variety of organizations, she has volunteered at the University of Kentucky FCA and SAAC, the Lexington Refugee Clinic, Southland Church, Legacy Gymnastics, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, God’s Pantry Food Bank, and Fayette County Public Schools.

Lee’s volunteer activities include wayfinding for patients at local hospitals, volunteering her time as a Clinical Nursing Assistant at the Refugee Clinic, taking care of infants and toddlers in the nursery during church services, passing out joy jars to hospital patients, packing take-home food for local students, serving as a huddle leader for local FCA events, and helping run local events.

A native of Round Rock, Texas, Lee has become a fixture in the Kentucky beam lineup over the past two seasons, featuring in 24 consecutive beam rotations after not competing at all during the first season of her collegiate career. In her collegiate debut, Lee scored a 9.900 and has met or surpassed that mark six times in the last two seasons. At the 2025 NCAA Pennsylvania Regional Final, Lee scored a career high 9.950 to earn the event win—the first of her career—in one of the most stacked regional finals in the country.

In the classroom, Lee is a Human Health Sciences major and has been named to the 2024 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll, the 2025 SEC Winter Sports Academic Honor Roll, and has earned WCGA Scholastic All-America distinction.

The Wildcats will begin postseason competition at the 2026 SEC Gymnastics Championships at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla. this weekend. No. 19 Kentucky will compete in Session I at 3 p.m. ET along with No. 6 Georgia, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 Missouri, and No. 16 Auburn. No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Florida, and No. 4 Alabama will compete in Session II at 8 p.m. ET. Both sessions will be televised on SEC Network.
