LEXINGTON, Ky. –The University of Kentucky women’s swimming and diving team is primed for a strong showing at the 2026 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, with a pair of divers and one swimmer earning invitations to the prestigious event. The Championships will be hosted by Georgia Tech on March 18-21 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga., and Kentucky will be represented by NCAA first timers in sophomore Avery Giese, senior Fernanda De Goeij, and junior Kristy Pfaff.
Although the championship began on Wednesday, the Wildcats begin their competition on Thursday with De Goeij in the 400 IM race. De Goeij, who was initially an alternate in the event before getting the call that she had qualified, is a versatile swimmer.
Along with De Goeij on Thursday will be diver Giese, who qualified for the 1-meter diving event at the Zones competition just a week ago. After a breakout summer and finishing third at the World University Games, the sophomore has performed well throughout the season, which was capped last week with a qualifying score of 587.65.
Moving onto Friday, it will be Pfaff on the boards to complete the competition for Kentucky. She will compete on the 3-meter dive, where she also qualified with a great performance at Zones with a score of 583.30.
With Giese, De Goeij, and Pfaff leading the charge, the Kentucky women’s swimming and diving program is set to showcase its talent on the national stage. The Wildcats will look to build on their past successes and demonstrate that they’re among the nation’s elite.
Prelims for each day will begin at 10 a.m. ET, with finals at 6 p.m. ET. Each session will be available for streaming on ESPN+, with live results on MeetMobile. For more information on the 2026 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, click here.
