Five Wildcats Score on Final Day of NCAA Championships to Close Out Indoor Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Kentucky Wildcats closed out the 2026 indoor season tonight with the conclusion of the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Freshman Kemarah Howard, fresh off her gold medal win at the SEC Championships, kicked off the day two in Fayetteville in the women’s high jump final, earning a 13th place finish a final height of 1.80m.

In the other field event of the day, Theo Mudzengerere continued his historic senior season with a sixth-place finish in the men’s triple jump final, closing out the event with a final mark of 16.50m.

For the third time this season, freshman Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera broke the Kentucky women’s 800m record in today’s final, improving her personal best time to 2:01.14. Kerubo Nyagisera placed fifth in the final race, featuring as the Wildcats first NCAA scorer of the day.

Emmi Scales capped off her historic indoor season today in the women’s 60m hurdles final, earning a fifth-place finish and a final time of 7.95.

In the final individual event of the day for the Wildcats, Denzel Simusialela finished sixth in the men’s 200m final with a time of 20.99.

In the final event of the weekend, the women’s 4x400m relay team, consisting of A’Laji Bradley, Hannah Douglas, Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera and Cha’iel Johnson, placed fourth in the final, posting the fourth-best time in program history at 3:28.80 to close out the NCAA Championships.

Following the conclusion of the indoor season, the Wildcats will begin the outdoor portion of the schedule next weekend in Orlando, Fla. at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge on Mar. 20-21.
