Men’s Tennis to Host Four Matches in Four Days

LEXINGTON, Ky. –Kentucky (9-6, 2-3 SEC) returns to the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex for a slate of four matches over the beginning of Spring Break. The Cats will start the weekend against Alabama (8-8, 2-3 SEC) at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, March 13. The Wildcats will then tussle with No. 18 Auburn (13-2, 3-1 SEC) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 15 before closing out the home slate with a doubleheader against Southern Indiana (4-4, 0-0 HL). Admission to all home matches are free to the public.

Kentucky climbed to a season-high No. 33 in this week’s ITA Computerized Rankings after upsetting No. 20 Oklahoma in Norman last week. The victory was the first road win in conference play for Kentucky since April 2024. The Wildcats have played their last three matches down to the final court, with a 4-3 win against the Sooners and 4-3 losses against No. 16 Florida and at Arkansas.

Despite seeing its streak of nine consecutive doubles points come to an end last weekend, the Cats have enjoyed doubles success throughout the season, holding a 10-5 record in the opening session of matches. Kentucky is led by No. 19 Jack Loutit and Eli Stephenson who hold a 6-2 record against ranked opponents this season.

Stephenson has led the way in singles as well, ranking at No. 24 in the latest ITA Singles Rankings and moving to the No. 1 court last week. The Louisville native has racked up 10 wins against ranked players this season.

Other ranked Wildcats include No. 38 Loutit, No. 77 Charlelie Cosnet, and No. 102 Nicolas Arseneault.

After this weekend, Kentucky will hit the road to face No.  14 South Carolina at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, March 20. The Cats will then return home to host No. 3 Texas at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 22.
