LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (8-6, 0-5 SEC) is set to hit the road for another weekend of SEC play, facing two top 25 opponents at No. 23 Florida (8-3, 2-2 SEC) on Thursday at 5 p.m. ET and No. 3 Auburn (21-1, 4-0 SEC) on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.

The Wildcats are coming off two tough losses at home this past weekend. On Friday, they faced No. 71 Arkansas in a tight battle, falling just short 4-3. On Sunday, it was No. 19 Oklahoma who defeated the Wildcats 4-0 at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.

For Kentucky, it is No. 112 Julia Zhu and No. 116 Zoe Hammond who round out the rankings for the blue and white this week to come.

Kentucky will take a trip to Gainesville to face No. 23 Florida (8-3, 2-2 SEC) on Thursday at 5. p.m. ET. The Gators are coming off a 1-1 weekend with a win over No. 30 Ole Miss in Oxford and a loss to No. 4 LSU on the road as well. They are led by their ranked singles players in No. 26 Gabia Paskauskas, No. 71 Nikola Daubnerova, No. 76 Valery Gynina, No. 84 Emily Seibold, and No. 103 India Houghton. They have a doubles pair in No. 19 Daubnerova and Xinyi Nong.

No. 3 Auburn (21-1, 4-0 SEC), who is coming off two big wins over No. 30 Ole Miss and No. 4 LSU, both on the road. The Tigers have ranked singles players that include No. 27 Ashton Bowers, No. 31 Ava Esposito, No. 33 DJ Bennett, No. 50 Ekaterina Khayrutdinova, No. 91 Angella Okutoyi, and No. 119 Alice Battesti.

Kentucky women’s tennis is still striving for their first conference win of the season, with two huge opportunities for a statement top 25 win ahead.
