LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (8-4, 0-3 SEC) is set to return to the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex to play No. 71 Arkansas on Friday at 5 p.m. E.T. and No. 19 Oklahoma on Sunday at 1 p.m. E.T. This will be the third week of the Wildcats’ conference play, going 0-2 last week in two tough matches against No. 31 Alabama and No. 33 Mississippi St.

While the Wildcats fell in their second week of conference play, they saw battling performances from now No. 112 Julia Zhu who went 2-0 in singles play, defeating Alabama’s No. 53 Kristina Paskauskas and Mississippi State’s Cha Kempenaers-Pocz. Now No. 116, Zoe Hammond, also displayed stellar game play defeating Alabama’s Klara Millicevic in swift sets. The Wildcats are hungry for a win and currently 6-0 with home court advantage.

No. 71 Arkansas (9-4, 0-3 SEC), is coming off a double header where they went 1-1 for the day, falling to No. 5 Auburn 4-0 and defeating Eastern Kentucky 4-0. They are led by No. 23 Carolina Gomez and are also striving to pick up their first conference win.

No. 19 Oklahoma (10-4, 1-2 SEC), recently fell to No. 23 Florida 4-3 and No. 5 Auburn 4-2 on the road and are set to travel again take on No. 7 Tennessee before arriving in Lexington to take on the Wildcats on Sunday. They are led by No. 30 Julia Garcia Ruiz and No. 71 Evialina Laskevich.

Kentucky women’s tennis is still striving for their first conference win of the season and will have their first conference match at home after playing on the road for the past two weekends. Both matches on Friday and Sunday will be free admission, but fans that cannot attend are encouraged to follow the live results via StatBroadcast and the live stream on ukathletics.com.
