Team Records and Series Notes

• Kentucky is 17-8 overall, 8-4 in the Southeastern Conference
• Winners of five games in a row and 10 of the last 11, Florida is 19-6, 10-2 in the SEC.
• Kentucky leads the series 111-43, including 41-27 in Gainesville.
  • Kentucky had won the last six matchups in Gainesville before today’s game.
• Next for Kentucky: the Wildcats return home to play host to Georgia on Tuesday. Game time is 9 p.m. and it will be televised on ESPN.

Player Notes  

• Making his return to Gainesville, Denzel Aberdeen led the Wildcats with 19 points and four assists.
  • It is his 17^th double-figure game of the season and eighth in the last 10 games.
• Otega Oweh scored 13 points.
  • He has scored in double figures in all 25 games this season. He has a total streak of 28 games dating back to last season, the longest such streak of his career.
  • At the 6:05 mark of the first half, Oweh’s layup gave him 1,001 points at Kentucky. He is the 63^rd player in school history to reach 1,000 points but only the fifth transfer player to do so. He now has 1,009 points as a Wildcat.
• Despite playing only 21 minutes because of foul trouble, Malachi Moreno collected 11 points and a career-high-tying 11 rebounds.
  • It is his third double-double of the season, first against an SEC opponent.
  • He is the first Wildcat freshman with a double-double in a true road game vs. an Associated Press top-15 opponent since Julius Randle at No. 1 Florida on March 8, 2014.
• Collin Chandler had a career day in three categories today.
  • For the third time this season, he had a career-best 18 points, all coming in the last seven games.

  • It was his 15th game this season – including eight of the last nine – with multiple made 3s, going 5 of 7 from distance today.
  • He tied his career high for steals with three thefts.
• Kentucky is currently missing Jayden Quaintance, Kam Williams and Jaland Lowe because of injury. Lowe is out for the season.
  • By the time Kentucky reaches the end of the regular season, during his two years at UK, Coach Mark Pope will have played only five of 52 games against high-major opponents (9.6%) with a full roster.

In the First Half

• Kentucky started the combination of Denzel Aberdeen, Collin Chandler, Otega Oweh, Andrija Jelavic and Malachi Moreno for the sixth consecutive game.

• Florida jumped out to a 10-2 lead and Kentucky called timeout at 16:34.
• Florida made 8 of the first 10 shots in building a 22-8 lead.
• Florida had its largest lead of the half at 32-17 and UK called another timeout at 9:32
• Kentucky responded with a 10-0 run to narrow the gap to 32-27.
• Florida went to halftime with a nine-point bulge, 43-34.
  • The Gators turned nine UK turnovers into 16 points and had a 16-5 advantage in points off turnovers.
  • Florida’s height made it difficult around the basket as Kentucky converted just 5 of 13 layups in the first half and eight of 23 for the game.
  • Aberdeen led the Wildcats with nine points and Oweh followed with eight.

In the Second Half

• Kentucky opened with the starters.
• Kentucky scored the first seven points of the half to pull within 43-41.
• Florida came back with six straight points to restore an eight-point lead.
• The teams battled evenly until a nine-point UF spurt gave the Gators their largest lead of the game at 74-58 with 8:09 remaining.
• Kentucky rallied within five points at 88-83 with 36 seconds left but got no closer.
