Catherine Rapp Signs with Spokane Zephyr FC

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Former Kentucky midfielder Catherine Rapp has signed the first professional contract of her career, joining Spokane Zephyr FC for the remainder of the 2025-26 Gainbridge Super League season. Rapp finished up her collegiate career with the Wildcats in 2025 after playing at FIU from 2022-24, tallying 15 goals and 10 assists during her NCAA career.

Rapp, a native of Evergreen, Colorado, tied for the Kentucky lead in goals during her senior campaign, scoring seven goals and adding six assists. Rapp helped guide the Wildcats to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and also scored both of Kentucky’s goals in the SEC Tournament, aiding the Cats to their first win in the event since 2014.

Prior to her time in Lexington, Rapp was an All-CUSA midfielder at FIU, scoring eight goals and adding four assists during her time in Miami. Rapp helped the Panthers to the 2024 Conference USA regular season and tournament championships.

Rapp also has USL experience within the pre-professional USL W League, playing with Minnesota Aurora FC during the summers of 2022-2025. Rapp is Aurora FC’s all-time leading goal scorer with 24 tallies. Spokane Zephyr FC head coach Nicola Lukic coached Rapp during her time in Minnesota.

The Gainbridge Super League is a Division One professional women’s soccer league, operated by the United Soccer League, the largest and fastest-growing pre-professional and professional soccer organization in the United States. Spokane Zephyr FC is one of nine teams in the league, joining franchises in Brooklyn, Charlotte, Dallas, , Fort Lauderdale, Lexington, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Washington, D.C..

Rapp’s signing brings the number of former Wildcats in the Gainbridge Super League to five, joining Hannah Richardson in Lexington, Maddie Kemp and Grace Phillpotts in Jacksonville, and Julia Grosso in Fort Lauderdale.
