Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is 7-4 on the season and Indiana is 8-3.
  • Kentucky leads the series 33-25, including 11-3 in games played in Lexington.
    • This was the teams’ first meeting since the 2016 NCAA Tournament and the first regular-season matchup since December 2012.
  • Next for Kentucky: the Wildcats have fall semester examinations this week before returning to the court next Saturday. Kentucky takes on St. John’s in the CBS Sports Classic, with tipoff slated for 12:30 p.m. in State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Player Notes

  • After a five-game absence because of injury, Mo Dioubate collected 14 points and a season-high 12 rebounds – his second double-double of the season and eighth of his career.
    • He had seven offensive rebounds, most by a Wildcat this season.
    • His five steals are the most since Reed Sheppard had five against LSU on Feb. 21, 2024
  • Jaland Lowe had season highs with 13 points and five rebounds.
  • Otega Oweh had 10 points and has scored in double figures in all 11 games this season.
    • He had two steals, his sixth straight game with multiple thefts.
  • Malachi Moreno played a solid floor game with a season-high-tying three assists, a season-best four steals and two blocked shots. He also had three points and two rebounds.
  • Jayden Quaintance has missed each game this season because of injury.

 

In the First Half

  • Kentucky started the combination of Denzel Aberdeen, Otega Oweh, Collin Chandler, Trent Noah and Malachi Moreno for the second time.
  • UK’s first substitution was Kam Williams at 16:08.
  • The first half was tightly contested, with eight ties and nine lead changes, until Indiana closed the half with an 11-5 run and took a 39-32 lead into halftime.
    • Nine Wildcats scored in the first half, Dioubate and Williams leading the way with five points each.
    • UK is now 1-4 this season when trailing at halftime.

 

In the Second Half

  • Kentucky opened with the starters.
  • Trailing 49-42, Kentucky went on an 8-0 run to reclaim the lead at 50-49, coaxing an Indiana timeout at the 11:31 mark.
  • After the timeout, Kentucky extended the run to 17-2 for a 59-51 lead.
  • Kentucky built its largest lead of 14 points at 72-58.
  • All totaled, Kentucky closed with a 30-11 run over the last 14 minutes of the game.
