Cutter Boley Earns SEC Freshman of the Week Honors

Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for the third consecutive week, the league announced Monday.

Boley also earned the award last week for his performance in wins over Auburn and Florida and is sharing this week’s award with Tennessee defensive back Ty Redmond.

Kentucky defeated No. 5 (FCS) Tennessee Tech, which had won 15 consecutive games, 42-10 on Saturday.

Boley, from Hodgenville, Kentucky, completed 18 of 21 pass attempts for 236 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a 30-yard touchdown. His completion percentage of 85.7 percent is the best for a UK quarterback (min. 20 attempts) since Bill Ransdell completed 86.9 percent (20 of 23) vs. Florida on Nov. 15, 1986.

Boley directed UK to 468 yards of total offense and led UK to six touchdowns on the eight possessions he played in the game. Boley has completed 68.8 percent of his passes this season for 1,780 passing yards and 13 touchdowns this season.
