Clara Strack Homecoming Game: No. 24/20 Kentucky Women’s Basketball Plays at Buffalo Sunday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 24/20 University of Kentucky women’s basketball program is bringing Clara Strack home to play a game at Buffalo in Alumni Arena in Buffalo, New York, on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. ET.
It is the first of seven games away from home for the team this nonconference season.
Hamburg High School will host Strack and the team for a brief meet and greet, which is open to the public, on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. The day following, Buffalo will host a postgame autograph signing with Strack and its own Buffalo natives.
Strack, who became the first Hamburg High School girls’ basketball player to go Division I, set high school records for most points in a game (male or female) (47 as a junior), most points in a season (637 as a junior) and most career points (male or female) (1,775).

Darren Headrick will have the radio call for UK Sports Network in 2025-26, his ninth straight season as the voice of the Wildcats. His call will be carried on 630 AM WLAP in Lexington and on 840 AM WHAS in Louisville. It also will be carried on SiriusXM Channel 388 and through the SiriusXM App.
Big Blue Nation also can watch the game on ESPN+, with Paul Peck and Matt Mattia on the broadcast.
Kentucky is coming off a dominant win over Monmouth, 104-46, in its last game at Historic Memorial Coliseum.
The Wildcats eclipsed 100 points in a game for the first time since defeating Evansville, 100-62, on Dec. 5, 2017, while their 104 points are the most since defeating Morehead State, 112-57, on Nov. 18, 2015.
The Wildcats had their largest margin of victory (+58) since Dec. 19, 2020 (61+ against Wofford).
Kentucky led Monmouth, 55-18, at halftime. It marked the program’s most first-half points under Kenny Brooks.
UK shot 58.2 percent from the field, the highest in the Brooks era and the highest since Dec. 18, 2018 (58.6% vs. Western Carolina). UK had its best shooting percentage from 2FG with 71.0 percent (22-of-31) since Jan. 25, 2018 (71.8% – 28-of-39 – vs. Alabama).
Kentucky knocked down 17 3s in the nonconference game, which became the second most in a single game in program history. Last season, Kentucky set the school record with 18 against Mississippi State on Jan. 2.
Lexi Blue, sophomore guard, had 35.0 percent of those 3s. She scored a career-high and team-high 18 points on 6-of-7 from 3. In fact, she made her first six attempts, sitting at 6-of-6 going into the fourth quarter. Her 85.7 3FG% marked the highest in a UK game (with a minimum of seven attempts) since March 26, 2013 (85.7 3FG% – also 6-of-7 – by A’dia Mathies vs. Dayton).
The Wildcats had 47 bench points, including Blue’s team-high 18 points, the most by the Cats under Brooks by 19.
Sunday’s game will mark the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
