Khadijah Cissé Called Up for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Freshman goalkeeper Khadijah Cissé has been selected to the Canadian U-17 Women’s National Team for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco, set to take place from October 17-November 8.

Canada will compete in Group D, opening the tournament against Nigeria on October 19. Cissé and Team Canada will also play Samoa on October 22 and France on October 25 to close out the opening stage of the event. All matches of the tournament will be played in the Rabat area.

This marks Cissé’s seventh call-up to the Canadian U-17 Women’s National Team. The Montreal native most recently serving on the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Qualifiers squad that helped the nation earns its bid to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 in April. Cissé also featured on a Canada squad that earned the bronze medal at the 2024 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship.

So far this season, Cissé has posted a 7-2-1 record in goal, tallying 18 saves and recorded two solo shutouts. The Canadian has started all but one match and has played complete games in all five SEC contests to date.

Cissé arrived in Lexington from the CF Montreal Academy, where she won multiple championships including the 2024 Coupe Quebec, 2023 Ligue 1 Quebec, and 2023 U-21 LSEQ. At the U-21 LSEQ, Cissé was named the Gold Glove recipient for her excellence in the net.
