Women’s Soccer Opens SEC Play Against No. 20 Oklahoma

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky (6-2-0) will close its season-opening nine-match home stand with its Southeastern Conference opener on Friday Night, hosting unbeaten and No. 20 Oklahoma (7-0-1) at The Bell for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Admission to the match is free to all fans and the match will also serve as Salute to Service Night. The match will also be streamed live on SEC Network +.

The match will pit the top two scoring offenses in the SEC during non-conference play against each other, with the Sooners leading the league at 26 goals and the Cats close behind at 25. The top two individual goal scorers in the league will also feature in the contest, with Oklahoma’s Naomi Clark setting the pace with seven goals and Kentucky’s Alexis Tylenda in second with six.

The Sooners will be the second-consecutive ranked opponent on the Wildcats’ schedule after dropping a 2-0 contest to No. 20 Ohio State last Sunday. Five of Kentucky’s 10 SEC opponents are either ranked or receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25.

Friday’s match will be just the second all-time meeting in the series, with Oklahoma and Kentucky playing to a 2-2 draw in Normal last September in the Sooners’ inaugural SEC season. This year’s meeting will mark Oklahoma’s first trip to the Bluegrass.

Kentucky will contest its first two-match SEC weekend next week, traveling to No. 24 Georgia on Thursday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. ET before returning home to host Missouri on Sunday, September 21 at 1 p.m. ET.  Admission to all 2025 Kentucky Soccer regular season home matches will be free to the public.
