Trio of Men’s Golf Alumni to Play PGA Tour’s ISCO Championship
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The PGA Tour returns to the state of Kentucky for the ISCO Championship, July 10-13, where a trio of Kentucky men’s golf products will tee it up at Hurstbourne Country Club.
J.B. Holmes (’05), Cooper Musselman (’18), and Stephen Stallings Jr. (’17) are among the 156 golfers slated to compete in the tournament, which features a $4 million purse and 300 FedEx Cup points for the champion.
For both Musselman and Stallings Jr., the tournament will be a hometown affair as both players hail from Louisville and attended St. Xavier High School prior to coming to UK. Holmes, too, is a Kentucky native, having grown up in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Among the most accomplished professionals in program history, Holmes is a five-time winner on the PGA Tour and a two-time member of the United States Ryder Cup team. He has played more than 350 career events on tour and earned more than $25 million in prize money. As a Wildcat, Holmes was a four-time All-American and helped Kentucky win the 2005 Southeastern Conference Championship on his way to being named SEC Golfer of the Year. This week’s start will be the first for Holmes on tour since October of 2024.
Musselman will be making his fourth appearance at the ISCO Championship this year. He earned his spot in the field through the Monday qualifier, where he tied for second at 6-under par to grab one of the last four available spots. At last year’s ISCO Championship, Musselman tied for 31st at 14-under par, a career-best finish for the UK product on tour. While at Kentucky, Musselman had a 72.91 scoring average and was the individual champion at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate his senior year.
Stallings Jr. will be playing in his 14th career PGA Tour event and sixth ISCO Championship. He has made the cut three times at the ISCO, with his best finish coming in 2019 when he tied for 45th. Stallings Jr.’s best career PGA Tour result came in 2022 at The American Express, where he tied for 25th at 12-under par. At Kentucky, Stallings Jr. owned a collegiate scoring average of 74.27 across 35 events.
First and second round tee times for the ISCO Championship can be found here. Holmes will be off at 12:32 p.m. in Thursday’s opening round, followed by Stallings at 2 p.m. and then Musselman at 2:22 p.m. Tickets and more information are available on the tournament website. Live television coverage will be broadcast on Golf Channel from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 5-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The ISCO Championship, which will be played in Louisville for the first time this week, was held in Lexington from 2018-2024. The event debuted in 2015 in Alabama, where it was held for its first three years.
