LEXINGTON, Ky. – It’s champ week!
22 Wildcats are set represent the Kentucky track and field team across 11 events this week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. at the historic Hayward Field on June 11-14.
Moving into the week, the Wildcats moved up one spot in the USTFCCCA men’s rankings to No. 23 and currently sit at No. 29 in the women’s rankings. As a conference, the SEC combined for 10 schools listed inside this week’s rankings with 166 total individual entries to the national championships.
Among the 22 individual entries for the Wildcats, 15 are set on the women’s side, including Janet Jepkemboi Amimo and Jenna Schwinghamer in the 800m and Camden Bentley and Emmi Scales in the 100m hurdles in the individual track events. The Cats have also sent a pair of relay teams to Eugene with the 4x100m relay team, consisting of Morgan Davis, Hannah Douglas, Sharmelle Holmes and Stacey Onyepunuka, and the 4x400m team, featuring A’Laji Bradley, Douglas, Alysia Johnson and Cha’iel Johnson.
