LEXINGTON, Ky. – Six Wildcats are set to compete at the Toyota USA Swimming National Championships in Indianapolis this week from June 3-7 at the Indiana University Indianapolis Natatorium. Maddy Hartley, Carson Hick, Grace Frericks, Ryan Merani, Devin Naoroz, and Levi Sandidge are among those representing the blue and white on the national stage with each individual competing in multiple events within the duration of the long course competition.

Hartley and Frericks, representing the women’s team, are both coming off their own fantastic junior years for Kentucky. In Indianapolis, Hartley will compete in the first competition, the 200 butterfly. This is the same event that she reached the finals in at the 2025 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships back in February. Frericks will race in the 200 backstroke, which she placed 47th in at the 2025 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship and 7th at the 2025 SEC Championship.

The four individuals on the men’s team will race in a total of 13 events. Hick will race in the 800 freestyle, 1500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle. Last season Hick qualified for three events at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship, finishing his All-American campaign as 6th in the mile and 11 in the half mile. Merani was also a 2025 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship qualifier, and he will race in the 200 IM, 200 butterfly, and 100 butterfly this week. Naoroz had a breakout year of his own and is looking to continue that in Indiana as he competes in the 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke. Lastly, Sandidge will look to compete in the same mile event he got silver in at the 2025 SEC Championships as well as the 800 freestyle, 400 IM, and 400 freestyle.

These six student athletes look for success at this event and continue to improve their time and training in preparation for the next season in Lexington. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. ET each day. To follow along their performances at the meet this week click here for live results.
