Wildcats Continue Home Dominance, Claim 12 Wins on Senior Day

LEXINGTON, Ky. – In the finale of the 2025 outdoor regular season, the Kentucky Wildcats track and field team tied their largest win total for a single day for the 2024-25 year on the final day of the Jim Green Invitational at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex in Lexington, Ky.

Amid the elements, UK track and field honored 18 graduating seniors during the senior day ceremony prior to today’s events.

The Cats claimed a total of 19 event wins across the two-day meet, highlighted by Janet Jepkemboi Amimo’s record-setting performance yesterday in the women’s 800m final. UK improved their win total from yesterday’s seven wins to today’s 12, which makes for a season-best for the Wildcats during this season.

Julia Gunnell (W Javelin), Aliyah Adams (W Triple Jump) and Shane Racey (M Pole Vault) started off day two strong for Kentucky with wins in their respective events. Both the men’s and women’s 4x100m relay team followed with event wins of their own, with the men’s team, consisting of Anthony Waterman, Clinton Muunga, Miles Jones and Josh Onwunili, posting the 10th-fastest time in program history (39.76).

All four participating Wildcats qualified for the women’s 100m hurdles final in the preliminary event, including Alexis Glasco, Camden Bentley, Kori Martin and Maya Anderson. Waterman was the lone Wildcat competing in the men’s 110m hurdles, qualifying for the final with third-place finish. Both Glasco and Waterman would go on to win their respective finals, with Glasco winning the women’s event with a 13.07 time and Waterman winning the men’s event with a 14.26 mark.

In the final field event of the weekend, sophomore Grayson Brashear claimed his first victory of the outdoor season with a win in the men’s discus final, posting a 50.84m/166-9 mark.

UK closed out their dominant weekend at home with a pair of wins in the men’s and women’s 800m finals, with Ally Kruger and sophomore Patrick Faust earning the top spot in their events. With her finish in the 800m, Kruger picked up her second win of the weekend, previously winning the 1500m final on Friday.

After capping both the regular season and the Jim Green Invitational, the Wildcats will now have a week off to prepare for the upcoming SEC Outdoor Championships right here in Lexington, Ky. on May 15-17 at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
