Emmi Scales Named to CSC Academic All-America Third Team
GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the first time in her career, Kentucky junior Emmi Scales has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team, per the organization’s release Wednesday afternoon.
Scales is coming off a historic season for the Wildcats in 2026, earning two SEC Championship gold medals in the indoor 60m hurdles and the outdoor 100m hurdles. She moved into No. 2 on the UK all-time list behind Masai Russell for the indoor hurdles with a time of 7.83 and into No. 4 in the outdoor hurdles, improving her career-best time to 12.64.
Heading into the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Scales remained unbeaten against collegiate runner throughout the 2026 season, accumulating three event wins and the top qualifying mark at the East First Round.
Off the track, Scales has received two Academic All-America honors from the USTFCCCA in both 2024 and 2025, while also featuring on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the three consecutive seasons.
She joins 13 other Division I athletes on the All-America Third Team, including Texas’ Carleta Bernard, Arkansas’ Sydney Vaught and Tennessee’s Amelia Willis from the SEC.
Scales concluded the spring semester at UK with a 3.817 GPA, currently majoring in criminal justice.
